The Belle Tones discovered Sweet Adelines on Youtube after falling in love with videos of GQ (International Rising Star Champions & 2017 International 7th Place Quartet). Their 8th grade choir teacher prepared them with a GQ Medley for the Capital City Show Choir Competition on April 1, 2016 in Austin, Texas and their trophy-winning debut performance from that event launched them into the world of barbershop harmony when the video went viral with the GQ fanbase on social media. Since then, they have joined Sweet Adelines Great Gulf Coast Region 10, took 1st Place in the Region 10 Youth Quartet Contest on September 17, 2016, and placed 7th in Region 10’s annual Regional Quartet Competition on March 31, 2017, winning Novice and performing on the Show of Champions on April 1, 2017. They plan to compete again in future Sweet Adeline competitions in Region 10 and the Young Women in Harmony program.

The Ladies won the Region 10 Young Women in Harmony Quartet Contest on January 16, 2016. They went on to win the International Rising Star Quartet Competition on July 13, 2016 in Auckland, New Zealand! Since then, they have sung on SAI and BHS chapter shows across the county, and continue to stay active in their home Regions (10 & 25). Did you know? The Ladies are comprised of four talented educators, and have 30 years of combined barbershop singing experience! They are fabulous clinicians, and would be a great addition to your next showcase or workshop. We are very proud of these girls and look forward to watching their bright future unfold!
We have had some incredible Young Women in Harmony workshops in 2016. The YWIH program welcomes all young women (under the age of 26) to join in and experience the joy of singing four part barbershop harmony with us! In addition to our Regional workshops and competitions, we launched a Young Women in Harmony Chorus named Southern Belles in 2016, and the ensemble pops up at our regional events. Southern Belles was invited to participate in the 2017 Midwinter Youth Chorus Festival of the Barbershop Harmony Society, and 20 young girls traveled to San Antonio, Texas with Katy Dane (Director) and Laura DeGraw (YWIH Coordinator) in January 2017. Their performance earned them a rating of “Excellent” from the Midwinter judging panel, and an experience they will never forget.
